Chapter 4 : Kirchhoff’s Voltage Law (KVL):

It states that in a closed circuit, the algebraic sum of all source voltages must be equal to the algebraic sum of all the voltage drops.

Use KVL to find E

Labeling diagrams with respect to sign convention

Now Applying KVL

-E+13.2V+6.6V+10.8 V+23.4 V=0

E= 54 V

Find voltage at A and B

Rt=R1+R2+R3

Rt= 2K+1K+3K=6000W

As the circuit is in series so the same current will pass through each element

V1= 4mA*2K=8V

V2= 4mA*1K=4V

V3= 4mA*3K=12V

Applying loops

Solving Loop 1

0=-24+8+Vab

0=-16+Vab

Vab=16 V

Solving Loop 2

-Vab+4+12

0=-Vab+16

Vab=16 V

Find voltage at A and B

Rt=R1+R2+R3

Finding Total Resistance to find total Current

Rt= 2K+1K+3K+1K=7000W

Finding Voltages

Voltages can be found using V =I x R Formula for every resistance

Now Finding Vac

Solving loop A

-24 V+ 6.8 V +Vab=0

Vab =13.8 Volts
